Overview

　　JOB SUMMARY:

　　Conduct product development tasks as assigned by PD staff that include the coordination and operation of the pilot plant.

　　Responsibilities

　　ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

　　Coordinates assigned aspects of pilot plant batch runs under the direction of a project leader including: ingredient procurement and prep, equipment and line prep, sample production, post-production cleaning, and completion of necessary paperwork.

　　Accurately prepares prototypes from kitchen sheets in a timely manner. Attends and participates in product inspections.

　　Accurately conducts analytical tests on samples and maintains records. Calibrates equipment on a regular schedule.

　　Provides appropriate documentation to support product development activities to include: kitchen batch work, formulas, process records, analytical results, project tracking, and inspection reports in an accurate and timely manner.

　　Supports all aspects of kitchen functionality to include operation, maintenance and sanitation of assigned equipment; inventory and storage of raw materials, ingredients and finished products and final disposition of finished product.

　　Performs other related and assigned duties.

　　Qualifications

　　MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

　　Education/certification :

　　High school and/or college related course work in food science.

　　Experience:

　　2+ years of operations or lab experience with an understanding of the batching process.

　　Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

　　Knowledge of:

　　Batching and packaging equipment.

　　Compounding skills.

　　Basic PC word processing/ spreadsheet software

　　Basic Food Preparation Techniques/Safe Food Handling GMP’s

　　Basic Research Skills

　　Basic Presentation Skills

　　Skill and ability to:

　　Communicate effectively verbally and in writing

　　Read, process and follow written direction with a high degree of accuracy

　　Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
