"Our client is looking to hire a full-time Food Stylist based onsite at their office & state of the art kitchen studio in Mahwah, New Jersey (not easily commutable by public transportation). Must have food styling background and culinary experience.**You must be able to work onsite 5 days per week in their office.The Food Stylist will work with the Photo Director to create beautifully composed images within brand standards while keeping in line with the culinary recipes, ensuring smooth pre-production and production.Roles & Responsibilities- Organize and plan for shoots including concept brainstorming, pulling inspo photos and making execution notes for pre-pro decks, product & recipe testing, and ordering/shopping for food/props- Work with the Photo Director to purchase and coordinate all the necessary food and prop orders to execute each shot after gaining a clear understanding of the desired foods, styling, color palette, props, and outcome- Understand the branding concepts and successfully execute food styling for product-based and recipe-based content- Styling some props in addition to food (this role is 90% food and 10% props)- Shop for specialty foods and props as needed- Work with culinary and video teams to keep prop room organized- Knowledgeable and up to date on the current food trends - Adapt to last-minute changes in schedules and be able to be flexible with planning- Keep photo kitchen & studio clean, organized and stocked with necessary styling tools and suppliesQualifications- 3+ years of food styling experience or culinary background- Experience with styling for commercials, video, social media content, editorials, and/or cookbooks- Knowledge of food styling techniques and methods- Must understand how certain foods need to be prepared to get them to look right on the camera and know some of the tricks of the trade (i.e. using glue or other non-edible treatments for styling etc.)- Proven compositional skillsall regular holidays + Jewish holidays. they do not currently offer commuting benefits post-covid they will be flex with WFH, 2 days/week"We do offer voluntary dental, vision, and long-term disability that can be enrolled in the 1st of the month after 60 days of employment.
