A food service manager performs several duties related to properlyrunning a food organization. Some tasks are food-related, such aspreparing menus and making dishes. Leadership tasks include hiring andtraining employees, making schedules and completing payroll. They mayalso keep track of inventory, set food prices, maintain equipment andfill in as needed to clean tables and greet customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Answer customer and employee complaints
Ensure proper sanitization
Provide excellent customer service
Review guest feedback
Hire, train, discipline, and sometimes fire employees
Order food and beverages, equipment, and supplies
Oversee food preparation, presentation, and other kitchen operations
Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas
Ensure that employees comply with health and food safety standards
Address complaints regarding food quality or service
Schedule staff hours and assign duties
Manage budgets and payroll records
Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service
