GENERAL PURPOSE: Assist operators in the set up, operation, maintenance of the folder/gluers to produce pharmaceutical cartons, sleeves and folders, and to provide training to operators on the equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintains machines and area in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
Performs in-process checks and quality inspections.
Demonstrates competency with gluing systems and the use of inspection systems.
Demonstrates competency in all basic and advanced folds; straight-line, lock-bottom, inner partition, 5th panel and backfold unit.
Demonstrates competency in security label application with both checkpoint and sensomatic.
Completes and understands all paperwork.
Creates parts orders and maintains replacement parts.
Maintains all folder/gluer equipment.
Assists all folder personnel in daily duties.
Supports department personnel, internal and external customers and support staff.
Ensures products meet customers’ specifications.
Backs up supervisor with basic tasks.
Effectively communicates with and to management staff.
Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have high school diploma or G.E.D. and at least two years’ experience as a Folder/Gluer Operator II.
Must have the ability to meet, and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test.
Must demonstrate competency with all folds respectively on folder I or demonstrate competency with all folds and security respectively on folder III (tag application on both II and III).
Must be able to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions.
Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
Must be capable of maintaining good attendance.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
Must pass basic reading test.
Must demonstrate competency with basic personal computer skills, including e-mail and word processing.
Must possess basic leadership skills, including ability to prioritize and assign work and schedule work.
Must be willing to adjust schedule for training purposes.
Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
