As a Chief Technologist you will provide leadership and management to technical services, assures that services are provided within professional standards. You will also travel to other center. Operates appropriate scanners to produce images of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. Maintains positive work relationships with radiologists and other physicians referring to the company.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(75%) Patient ImagingScreens patients before examination for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the examinationPerforms routine and advanced radiologic procedures on designated portions of the body for use by physicians in the diagnosing and treating of patient illness and/or injury with minimal amount of supervision or repeatsExplains and prepares patients for procedures that will be performed, explaining the procedure, positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately scanned and providing patient support by talking to patients throughout the procedureAccurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information System (RIS) systemAdjusts scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques as appropriate; recommends scanning protocols that meet physicians' needsFollows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations to protect themselves, their patients, and coworkersProduces diagnostic images in assigned area and performs quality control tasks as assignedMaintains positive work relationships with radiologists and other physicians referring to the companyRemains self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolveMaintains equipment, cleans and disinfects equipment after each use, checks to ensure emergency equipment is in good working order; takes corrective action for any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdownsEnsures an orderly and clean work area in all modalities to promote good safety habits for patients and teamPromotes and motivates good customer relations with patients, physicians, visitors and other company personnel(10%) Staff ManagementEnsures comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures and protocols for all technologistsAssists in staff planning and hiring process along with managementManages overall staffing levels for adequate modality coverage at all timesMonitors and approves timecardsOversees and assists with training of new associates, providing resource and technical expertiseSchedules routine meetings with Technical Operations ManagerAttends and participates in monthly Chief Tech meetingInitiates and participates in staff performance evaluations and development of associates including performance improvement plans, and/or disciplinary actionsLeads regular staff meetings and employee one-on-onesParticipates in HR training sessions(10%) OperationsCoordinates patient relations, ensuring a high quality of patient service is deliveredEnsures compliance with state regulations and internal policies regarding documentation and tracking of safety and licensing-related itemsOrders appropriate supplies as necessary following company guidelines on inventory control(5%) Performs other duties as assignedRequired:ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standingGraduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiographyLicensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicableCurrent Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificationTraining and experience sufficient to competently perform radiographic procedures independentlyAdvanced modality certificationPreferred:B
