Position Summary
The Flex Fund Coordinator plays a crucial role in overseeing Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry's (LMM) Flex Fund program as part of the Housing Team within the Housing & Shelter Program (H&S). Recognizing financial barriers as a significant factor in homelessness, this role focuses on efficiently managing Flex Fund requests to minimize the occurrence and duration of homelessness. Responsibilities include collaborating with the appropriate staff to facilitate timely decision-making, ensuring proper documentation, overseeing fund distribution, and accurately processing check requests to the accounting department. The goal is to contribute to making homelessness rare, brief, and a one-time experience through effective coordination of the Flex Fund program.
Some of the duties include:
Oversee LMM's Flex Fund program, including Direct Cash Transfer (DCT) for Shelter Flex Fund (SFF), Family Transition in Place (FTIP), and Family Direct Cash Transfer (FDCT)
Collaborate with LMM staff involved in the Flex Fund process to ensure timely decision-making, proper documentation, accurate fund distribution, and correct check requests to the accounting department
Conduct staff training on the Flex Fund request process and utilization of the Flex Fund Request Microsoft Excel Userform
Interface with staff to address missing, incomplete, or incorrect data on Flex Fund requests
Utilize the Supervisory Userform Microsoft Excel tool to review, modify, delete, approve, and reject Flex Fund requests
Collaborate with the H&S data team to develop and refine tools for request submissions, approval/rejection processes, and tracking systems
Ensure timely responses to all Flex Fund requests, tracking the entire process from initiation to completion
Assist staff in obtaining necessary signatures for Flex Fund program documentation
Coordinate with the accounting department to ensure proper funding alignment with check requests
Engage with the H&S data team as needed to enhance, refine, or expand the Flex Fund process

Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED; Associate's/Bachelor's Degree preferred. Some experience working with people experiencing homelessness, veterans, people with substance use disorders, people with re-entry backgrounds, and/or other relevant social service populations, preferred.
