Firmware Engineer III is responsible for the execution of development projects assigned by the embedded firmware team lead. Project time-to-market, OTD and quality of code are measures of performance.
Activities and assignments for projects including PCN code and other bare metal or RTOS applications.
Design, develop, and execute solutions to address business needs on Pump Electronics and related platforms.
Design systems that are efficient, scalable, maintainable, and accurately meet the needs of the business.
Participate or lead code reviews and provides valuable feedback on performance, logic, and maintenance issues.
Ensure quality control for firmware releases.
Ensure all firmware development follows Agile or APD process.
Ensure urgent attention to escalations and released firmware bugs.
Develop, validate, and document firmware applications for dispenser platforms, payment systems, or communication between electrical, electro-mechanical, and user input subsystems.
Participate or lead definition, design, and review of software architecture, application frameworks, and interfaces.
Interpret and implement application software in accordance with design and interface specifications.
Integrate and perform validation testing to confirm compliance with specifications.
Utilize Agile & Lean development methodologies, and effectively operate with a global mindset.
Participate in definition, design, and review of PCB architecture and schematics, and interfaces
Bachelor of Science in Electronic or Computer Engineering
Experience developing Printed Circuit Board Assemblies.
Experience with C and C++ in Real Time Operating System (RTOS)
Experience developing multi-threaded applications.
Experience with cross-platform development, debugging, and test tools.
Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., OOAD, UML, Requirements Management, Configuration Management, and Defect Management, JIRA)
Real time digital I/O hardware, microcontroller coding, and RTOS experience required
