Each year, DNRC seeks hundreds of dedicated individuals to help protect Montana wildlands from wildfire. These seasonal, temporary firefighting jobs are offered statewide throughout DNRC Units. Employment is generally 3-6 months with work beginning as early as May and ending in late September with the potential to begin as early as April and run as late as October depending on fire activity. We provide training, safety clothing, and protective gear. You bring enthusiasm and the ability to perform courageous outdoor work safely, productively, and responsibly. DUTIES: Provides refueling support for State helicopter operations. Utilizes two-way radio to receive requests for and provides fuel to Helicopter; maintains records of all fueling; operates and maintains a 600-gallon fuel truck within the area to transport fuel; uses and maintains aircraft fueling system to include fuel tank, pump, filtering system, hoses and bonding cables to assure a safe operation; performs routine building and grounds maintenance to include painting, weeding, grass mowing and basic general repairs. SPECIAL INFORMATION: Housingis available at this location. The seasonal positions will remain open and additional screening will occur as needed until positions are filled. Applicants for these positions must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire and have a valid drivers’ license and less than 12 conviction points over the most recent 36 months. Requirements: * 18 years of age at time of hire * Valid Driver’s License with less than 12 conviction points in the past 36 months. * Possess a valid Class A/B Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous Material, air brakes and tanker endorsements. * Must possess current CDL Medical card. * Must be able to work extended hours and weekends. * Must be able to travel within the state of Montana for up to 14 days at a time. * Must have considerable knowledge of truck operations and fueling systems, map reading, and GPS use desired. * This position requires a “light” fitness rating. The work capacity test will require you to walk a distance of one mile in not more than 16 minutes. SPECIAL INFORMATION: * Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
