Position SummaryUHN Corporate Billing & Accounts Receivable & Registration (CBARR) is a high-volume, fast-paced department responsible for revenue through billing and collection. The Financial Services Analyst plays a key role in supporting the management of patient billings and collection contributing to revenue and cash flow maximization. This role will focus on our Healthcare billing portfolios; it will include performing regular weekly and monthly submissions, error corrections and reporting.
DutiesMonitor and stay current with the Ministry billing guidelines
Review, evaluate and submit billings for the WSIB Portfolio
Participate in system testing
Assist with audits
Escalate issues that impact workflow or revenue
Ensure Accurate and Timely Billing by working closely with a variety of stakeholders in order to assure reception and submissions of billing files and invoices
Liaise with insurers, patient, support workers, and clinical team in a professional manner
Review the accuracy of patient data including chart review prior to billing
Maintain healthy aging portfolio by following up persistently on overdue accounts
Review Payment Summary
Investigate rejection timely to rebill or appeal as appropriate to minimize write-off
Perform cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification, as required
Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports/materials for audit committee
Perform ad-hoc financial reports when requested for special projects and other duties as required
QualificationsCompletion of a Business Administration or Accounting diploma OR equivalent relevant experience
Knowledge of fundamental accounting practices and principles
Proven self-learning and initiation skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written
Demonstrated commitment to customer service and satisfaction
Excellent attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly
Ability to discuss Financial coverage with patients and/or family members
Assets to the role:Experience in healthcare billing
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
