Position Description: This is anentry-level accounting position, intended to assist the Plant Controllercarry out his/her basic responsibilities and develop the incumbent forfuture growth opportunities within the corporation. You will provideaccounting support for the two Lawrenceburg, TN plants. This positionprocesses monthly journal entries, helps in month-end closing andanalyzes monthly results, assists in the coding and application ofstandard processes for spending requests, supports basic accountspayable transactions, and performs other duties necessary to theorganizational accounting function. You will develop a proficiency in anumber of different accounting responsibilities and duties during thefirst two to three years. You will become involved with cost informationcovering all areas of the plant and develop a thorough understanding ofthe activities of various departments and how they interrelate. You willalso be required to learn and help the Plant Controller comply with allof the relevant Modine policies and help maintain a strong internalcontrol environment. Key Responsibilities: Help prepare financial datarequired for monthly journal entries, trial balances, and financialstatements. Compile various reports (scrap, capital spending, perpetualinventory, etc.) for plant and corporate management to enhance theintegrity of operations. Support accounts payable, prepare sundry checkrequests, prepare fixed asset transactions, and perform various costaccounting transactions as assigned.
