Description There is an entry-level Financial Analyst position available through Robert Half with an industry leading company. The Financial Analyst provides daily support to the accounting and finance departments, in addition to performing routine assignments and solving standard problems with limited discretion. To succeed in this Financial Analyst position, the ideal candidate would be adaptable and skilled at absorbing a large sum of information while handling a variety of expectations. This Financial Analyst position is a great fit for candidates who are results-oriented, focused, and passionate about analysis. This long-term contract / temporary to hire employment opportunity is based in the New Albany, Ohio area.
Your responsibilities
Stay updated on the preliminaries of monthly financial reporting and other business data
Solidify and inspect budgets and income statement forecasts
Play a part in ensuring adequate controls and procedures
Encourage the monitoring and maintenance of internal accounting controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Accommodate a number of aspects of the monthly/quarterly/annual close process (i.e. journal entries, account reconciliations, expense analysis, and trend analysis, variance analysis)
Examine and query a tremendous amounts of data
Arrange inventive alternatives and ideas to reduce costs and boost financial performance of a company
Provide assistance in annual budgeting process
Could have to guide non-financial staff members on complicated financial subjects in special assignments
Team up with internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
Review confirmed results at the corporate and division levels Requirements - Less than one year of experience is acceptable
Proficiency with diverse computer applications and experience with contract database systemsAttention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Practical knowledge in problem solving through statistical analysis or with large data sets highly preferable (such as in derivatives, structured finance, or business analytics or in a similarly demanding and analytical role)
BA/BS degree in finance or a related field
Analyze Financial Statements experience
Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
Loan Underwriting experience
Workers compensation experience preferred
Capable of working independently with minimal oversight
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
