The Position
This job exists to drive digital transformation efforts and streamline data integration across solutions in the North American Finance Organization.
The individual in this position will play a pivotal role in building expertise of our data structure and integrating tools such as Anaplan with key finance processes. The individual will act as a Solution Architect and collaborate cross-functionally to convert complex business challenges into configured solutions ensuring best value for the business.
Relationships
This individual will report to the Head of Finance Strategy & Digitalization.
Daily, the individual in this position will interact with stakeholders across the Finance organization with frequent interaction at the manager, senior manager and director level. Moreover, the job regularly interacts with IT and data management teams. From an external perspective the individual will likely interact with vendors in the digital space, e.g., analytics or developing consultants.
In terms of global interaction this person will communicate with teams performing similar operations across the globe.
The position does not have any direct reports, has no dotted line reporting to anyone, and will not manage any contingent workers.
Essential Functions
Collaborate with cross functional teams to design and implement digital solutions for critical business processes
Build and test multi-dimensional models with a strong focus on performance and end user experience
Define standards and best practices to streamline existing models and guide future development
Act as a data steward and ensure data governance
Key Area #1
Define user stories & ensure understanding of underlying data and data requirements, communication with the product owner and process experts as well as support launch and roll-out of digital solutions
Key Area #2
Translate user stories into configured solutions (design and build)
Document and perform rigorous testing to ensure accuracy, alignment with business requirements and good performance
Maintain and continuously enhance existing digital solutions
Key Area #3
Build expertise within finance digital solutions and data infrastructure and provide technical guidance
Collaborate with IT and data experts across the organization to ensure our solutions adhere to best practices
Monitor external trends in terms of new technologies and approaches for digital solution in finance organizations and ensure that we take them into account in the team
Key Area #4
Collaborate with business stakeholders and liaise with technical and data management teams to ensure quality and governance of finance data
Investigate and mediate data quality issues
Streamline data integration across finance digital solutions
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required.
Qualifications
Education Level:
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Information systems, Data management or other relevant subjects
Experience Level:
Minimum 6-8 years, where master’s degree would be considered in lieu of experience
Specific or technical job skills:
Required
3-4 years of experience in driving digital transformation initiatives, process automation, data strategy implementation, data governance or similar
3-4 years hands on experiences in Python, R, SQL or other software development
Data analysis skills and experience working with large data sets
Strong understanding of metadata management, data lineage and data governance
Advanced Excel skills (experience in Anaplan is an advantage)
Technical understanding of finance processes is preferred
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Eager and willing to learn new systems and tools where any necessary training or certifications would be provided
