This includes collaborating onproposals; developing budgets and forecasts in coordination with the ZeroConversion Commodities (ZCC) team and in-region finance peers; trackingand analyzing actuals and variances; maintaining and supporting accountingactivities and system processes; preparing financial reports for staff anddonors; coordinating payables, contracts, sub-awards, and otheragreements; and ensuring that best practices and organizational policies andcommitments are met accurately and timely. They will provide a high level ofprivate grant management and reporting expertise. They will be a primary pointof contact for complex grants across multiple business units within theConservancy. They will provide financial guidance and assistance toConservation Managers regarding proposals, grants, reporting, and budgetmanagement. They will also respond to complex employee/management questionsand problems based on advanced subject area knowledge. The Finance Managerwill expeditiously and courteously respond to or route inquiries from internaland external customers. The duties of the Finance Manager may expand tosupport additional aspects of global programs, as requested.WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOUThe Finance Manager Works toward meeting the program's strategicpriorities by developing and coordinating tactics for approved plans andcompleting day-to-day tasks. The Finance Manager prepares financial reportsfor donors and manages the overall finances of initiatives in coordinationwith the project managers and workstream leads. The Finance Manager generatesand analyzes monthly financial reports and data from the general ledger andother ad hoc financial reports, such as Labor Distribution Reports andmonthly contract reports, and tracks spending rates. The Finance Managerensures proper coding of expenses and that invoices are submitted and paid.The Finance Manager may review the financial reports of award sub-grantees.The Finance Manager prepares and delivers quarterly financial results andmanages the project's forecast database and financial modeling.They prepare long-term financial sustainability analysis identifying fundingneeds and gaps, primarily on FTEs. They manag in coordination within-region peers FTEs database, tracking projected allocation of the teamacross multiple sources of funds. They actively participate in grantproposals, including renewals and budget preparation. They prepareaccounting forms and reports; such as journal entries, cash receiptrecordings, and adjustments, including payment of invoices which mayinclude review of expense reports. They support contract/grant managementprocesses for private funding and ensure compliance with TNC policies andprocedures. They reinforce consistency in the organization'spolicies and procedures and provide support related to the relevant field.They may participate in complex negotiations and assist in internal audits.They can handle confidential payroll information of staff. They willcollaborate with finance peers in other geographies, particularly LatinAmerica. This position may mentor other finance staff working on the project.They contribute to annual and multi-year budget planning per organizationalguidelines. Some travel may be required, as well as flexibility with workinghoWHAT YOU'LL BRINGBachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, BusinessAdministration, or related field and four years of related experience orequivalent combination. Experience with relational databases andcreating/managing moderate to complex Excel spreadsheets, workbooks, andfinancial models. Technical experience with general accounting practices andgrants/award accounting issues. Experience using accounting and financialreporting systems and preparing customized reports. Experience withregulations related to grants and contracts. Experience with PowerPointpresentations to give cross-functional team financial presentations about theproject. Experience working with cross-functional teams across multipleorganizational levels. Experience working independently and jointly withcolleagues on a team. Experience in full-cost budgeting. DESIREDQUALIFICATIONS Fluency in Portuguese is highly desirable. Non-profitaccounting experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communicationskills. Ease relating to diverse clients. Excellent analytical andquantitative skills. Experience in manipulating, analyzing, andinterpreting data.
