The UK Finance team has a new opening for a Finance Assistant to join their team based at of our office in Leeds. This opportunity is an entry level role and will be working alongside the rest of the Finance team on a day to day basis.
Role Scope
The Finance Assistant is responsible for accurately processing Account Payable invoices, following the correct procedures, utilizing Microsoft D365 and other financial systems. They will also work with various stakeholders such as Project Managers and vendors to resolve any queries in a timely manner.
Typically, the Finance Assistant will:
Receive and verify invoices and purchase requisitions for goods and services
Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
Ensure transactions comply with VAT and Construction Industry Scheme regulations
Prepare expenses journals
Allocate invoices to the correct purchase order and project.
Assist in the preparation of weekly payment runs.
Respond to vendor queries by phone and email
Respond to internal stakeholder queries
Processing Supplier payments on the Bank accounts
Coding of the credit card transactions
Maintenance and updating the Creditors balance sheet reconciliation.
Actioning any errors with the appropriate accounting adjustments
Review any unpaid AP invoices and payments on account.
Providing cover and contingency for other admin tasks as required.
Minimum Requirements
Experience of using Microsoft Office Packages particularly Microsoft Excel
Working towards AAT level 3
Good attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors
Good working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
Desirable
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Concur, or equivalents
posting to multiple entities and business divisions
Willingness to learn
