This vacancy is for a Field Supervisor position assigned to thegeography shown inthismap.This position reports to the U.S. Census Bureau's New York RegionalOffice. Applicants selected for this position will have their home astheir Duty Station and will be required to travel throughout their localarea on a routine basis.
$21.14- $27.48 per hour
Will cover: all of Caledonia , Essex, Orange, Orleans, Washingtonand a portion of Addison and Lamoille counties.

Duties
Leads a team of approximately 6 to 15 Field Representativesresponsible for data collection in accordance with the scientificstandards and expectations set by the Census Bureau and surveysponsors.Understands surveys and or Special Census being conducted includingresponse patterns, differences in survey procedures, their effect oninterviewing experience, and is able to leverage general guidance,previous training, experience, and survey resource material indirecting Field Representatives to resolve issues.Regularly assists with the recruitment and training of FieldRepresentatives.When needed, conducts in person interviews throughout theassignedgeographicarea.Evaluates, monitors, and mentors Field Representative performancethrough performance metrics on the job observations, regularperformance reviews and conducts supervisory and administrativeduties including the review and approval of payroll and leaverequests.This position has a mixed-tour work schedule. A mixed-tour work scheduleprovides for periods of full-time, part-time, and/or intermittent workto accommodate fluctuating workloads. Position may include evening orweekend work up to 40 hours, hours will vary. The candidate(s) selectedfor this position must sign an agreement outlining the conditions ofemployment prior to appointment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Grade 6: Applicants must have one year of specializedexperience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in FederalService. Specialized experience is experience which has equipped theapplicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities tosuccessfully perform the duties of a Field Supervisor. The applicantmust have experience in the following areas: (1) interviewing clients,respondents, and/or customers to gather and obtain data in person and/orby telephone, (2) using a device such as a smart phone, tablet, orcomputer/laptop to collect data and generate reports, (3) completingwork assignments in accordance with production or progress standards,(4) experience applying procedural guidance and/or training to addresscomplex or unusual problems.NOTE:Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, includingvolunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., PeaceCorps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional;philanthr
