Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.As a Field Service Technician, you will execute service work according to agreed work flows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines, deliver excellent customer service to satisfy customers, and work in close co-operation with customer and other ABB teams, taking actions to identify new Service business opportunities for ABB.This position reports toService ManagerYour responsibilitiesPerform Service tasks, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in any Service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services, replacements, etc.)Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing Service work according to customer order and expectation, create and maintain a good relationship with customers and understand their needs, and identify new sales opportunities and communicate them internally.Coordinate, prepare and ensure that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for Service activities.Prepare all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative and report work done in a timely manner and follow-up when needed.Proactively identify potential equipment failures and requests proactive corrective actions, troubleshooting equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.Proactively identify suggestions for product and quality improvement and communicate them further in the ABB organization and provide recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.Apply safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities, reporting unsafe practices and incidents.Your backgroundBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology OR equivalent military experience OR Associates Degree with 2 or more years' experience in servicing critical power equipment.Will consider High School Diploma/GED and 10 or more years' experience.Advanced ability to interact and communicate information to varying levels within the organization, both written and verbally.Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Moderate ability to self-Project Manage using MS Project or Excel.Advanced ability to write test plans and reports detailing test results.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.BenefitsRetirement planLife insuranceDisability insuranceHealthcare planWellbeing programMore about usABB Smart Power is a global technology leader, with products and solutions that make power supplies smart, connected and protected.
