Summary:
Responsible for the daily operations of our analytics team. In this role, the primary responsibility is to develop BI solutions using data visualization software, the data warehouse and statistical methodologies. The departmental mission is to improve quality, ensure patient safety and increase efficiency and profitability. This mission is accomplished through a collaborative effort among the analysts, coaches/project managers and other team members using lean methodologies and data analytics.
Responsibilities:
Administers the unit's Human Resources function in accordance with Health Care System policies/procedures. Examples of expectations include responsible for selecting, training, evaluating, counseling, and disciplining of employees within the work unit, ensuring staff are meeting or exceeding productivity and quality expectations, ensuring staff comply with relevant regulations, policies and certifications, maintaining employee attendance records, and performance evaluation of analytic support and quality improvement professionals.
Plays a vital role in the execution of the performance improvement strategy, which will require excellent communication and organizational skills. This also requires building strong working relationships with both internal and external customers, particularly as it relates to project or program efforts, committee meetings, consultation services, data analyses and other performance improvement initiatives.
Responsible for accurate and timely data analyses produced by the department to drive continuous improvement efforts. Manager will coordinate data needs with Information Services Department and/or Enterprise Analytics & Data Sciences, counsel regarding statistical analyses and review analyses/dashboards for consistency and accuracy to adhere to UNCHCS data governance standards and methodologies.
Mentor analysts and inspire creativity when developing data visualizations, statistics and measurements. Mentorship may include orientation to health care, collaboration with coaches and team members and lean training & methodologies.
Ensure management systems are updated routinely to determine resource and timeline constraints and other methods required to organize and manage analytical initiatives and data stewardship.
Provide content and lead departmental meetings. Prioritize agenda items and follow-up on previously discussed action items to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Support director in annual budget process and assist in meeting monthly budget.

Education Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related Engineering field, Business Administration, Health Administration, Statistics or related field.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Three (3) years of experience in analytics, data visualization, performance improvement, strategy and decision management, or reporting. Experience should include process and outcome measurement, project management or personnel management, and statistics.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Knowledge of Epic & data warehouse structures, GitHub, SQL, Python, R, Lean Six Sigma preferred.
