Pay Range: $70000 - 80000 / year
Position Summary
A Field Service Technician handles on-site servicing, diagnostics, and repairs for a company’s electrical products or equipment
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Troubleshooting and startup of new welding systems both mobile and at fixed plant locations
Repairs to the mobile welding fleet located throughout the North American continent.
Start up and training of personnel on welding systems.
Training personnel on operating, mobile welding equipment.
Aiding with design improvements to existing welding systems
Two to three years of experience in the industrial work environment, along with a background in troubleshooting electrical power circuits, ranging from 10 volts to 600 volts.
Previous experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and electro-mechanical devices such as motor starters, relays, transformers, or power distribution centers preferred.
Understanding of and experience with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, valves, and pressure relief devices.
Ability to work from JIC Electrical schematics and Hydraulic schematics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees.
Must be able to travel at least 70% of the time.
The ability to obtain a valid passport.
Must have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Pay commensurate with experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Degree preferred in related fields of Welding.
Must be 18 years or older
Technology, Electronics, Hydraulics, or Automotive Design and Repair, or equivalent experience to equal an Associate Degree.
Ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work in shop and field environments
Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work being performed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Works both indoors and outdoors
Travels to field locations to provide repairs or maintenance
Frequently performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as standing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching and handling of materials, equipment and tools
Uses hands and fingers to operate equipment and tools involved in repairs
Lifts, pushes, pulls, and carries heavy objects, machinery, and tools up to 50 pounds
Works around vehicles and machinery with moving parts
Exposed to exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel
May be exposed to harsh weather conditions
May be exposed to loud noise.
