At Beckman Coulter Life Sciences , to reinforce our current team, we are currently recruiting a Field Application Specialist, specialized in Automation within the Life Science division.
This is primarily a customer-facing role in which you will work with scientists to understand their application requirements and help to adapt their workflows. In this role you will support applications on Liquid Handlers, Assay Workstations and Industrial Robot systems as well as applications for our genomics products and the implementation of "Next Generation Sequencing" protocols.
Your key responsibilities
Application support across multiple scientific subject areas with focus on customers´ workflow processes
Build, adapt, and optimize liquid handling methods/protocols
Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems and serve as a liaison with internal customer support teams as needed
Coordinate with sales team on pre-sales presentations and serve as technical resource
Overnight domestic and international travel, up to 70%, when required, sometimes on short notice
Your background
Our innovative instruments are used worldwide in multiple subject areas including genomics, drug discovery, cancer research, and synthetic biology.
Therefore, we need someone who has bench experience, market knowledge and is ready to expand their horizons and seek the next challenge as we enable scientists to automate assays and work at smaller volumes with greater precision.
Educated to B. Sc. or equivalent in a biological or related subject
At least 1 year hands-on experience with laboratory automation equipment
A molecular biology background and experience in “Next Generation Sequencing” is highly desirable
A previous experience of technical or application support within a Diagnostic or Life Science Company would be beneficial
The position is home-based and will require approximately up to 70% travel
Language skills: fluency in German and English is required and any other additional European language would be beneficial
Location: Switzerland with a good connection to a major airport
