This advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Bureau of Finance & Accounting.
Salary Rate: $44,818.54 annually
SALARY WILL BE DETERMINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT PAY POLICY.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent in this position is responsible for processing travel and PCard invoices through manual processes and automated systems, WORKS and Statewide Travel Management System (STMS). Invoices are reviewed to ensure compliance with Section 215.422, Florida Statutes, applicable travel/PCard rules and procedures. Duties may include but will not be limited to the following:
Receives, reviews, and approves receipt and disbursement source documents in the computerized accounting systems. Audits invoices for accuracy, proper certification, and authorization to pay. Prepares journal transfers when necessary.
Monitors financial coding to ensure it is current, complete, and accurate.
Maintains financial records in accordance with established accounting guidelines and procedures.
Assists with Fiscal Year End preparation in WORKS/STMS and other areas as needed.
Assists in the modification, design, and development of procedures for the improvement of internal control and compliance with established accounting guidelines and procedures.
Advises internal and external customers regarding use of the automated WORKS/STMS accounting systems. Assists with training of internal and external customers as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.
Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to use automated accounting systems, personal computers, and general office equipment.
Knowledge of the methods of data collection.
Knowledge of DC rules, policies, and procedures.
Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or its equivalent ANDthree years of experience in administrative work, accounting, or auditing. OR
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Must be permitted to have access to Department Institutions and FLAIR
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given for WORKS and STMS experience.
