Workersmust work at a sustained (continuing for an extended period of timewithout interruption), vigorous pace (quick and steady) and make bonafide efforts (made in earnest intent) to work efficiently (performing orfunctions in the best possible manner with the least waste of time andeffort) and consistently (same way for a long time) that are reasonableunder the climatic and other working conditions, Workers may not leavetrash, or other discarded items in work areas or vehicles but mustdispose of such items in provided receptacles. Workers must wash handswith soap and water after all bathroom and meal breaks. Allergies tovarieties of ragweed, goldenrod, insecticides, related agriculturalchemicals, etc., may affect workers ability to perform the workdescribed herein.
Sanitation Requirements: For food and general personal safety purposes,all workers will always be required and expected to follow commonsanitary practices. This is particularly critical when hand harvestingcrops for human consumption. Employees are required to cleanse theirhands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after using thebathroom and before entering the fields for harvest activities or thepacking facility for packing operations.
Workers will prepare fields for planting, plant, cultivate, harvest andpack crops named in this job order. Workers may be responsible forpreparation of field beds, assisting in installation of drip irrigation,irrigation pipe, and black plastic mulch. Duties will include working ina greenhouse.
Crops: Flowers, Strawberries, Green Beans, Peppers, Zucchini, SummerSquash, Asparagus, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Melons,Pumpkins, Fall Squash, and Gourds.
Workers will drive tractors to prepare ground, seed and cultivateflowers, vegetables, and strawberries. Workers will set up irrigationsystems for the above-mentioned crops and maintain them. By hand workplant, hoe, harvest, wash separate grade & pack Flowers, Strawberries,Green Beans, Peppers, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Asparagus, Cucumbers,Eggplant, Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Melons, Pumpkins, Fall Squash, andGourds. Workers will care for plants in the greenhouse. Workers willbend and stoop and work on kneels for long periods of time caring forand harvesting the above-named crops. Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs. bags of sweet corn.
Agricultural Equipment Operation: Worker may operate tractors, forklift,tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery for landpreparation, maintenance and cultivation, Worker may operate equipmentused in agricultural production, such as tractors and implements. Workermay manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms onmachinery. Worker may load containers and products using forklifts.Worker may operate grading and digging equipment. Properly licensedworkers will operate farm vehicles on public roadways. Worker mayperform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting repair on equipment.
