Consultants please conduct a seated interview. Applicants must have 20days experience with Farm / Irrigation / Livestock work. Applicantshired must be able to obtain a valid driver\'s license as driving onpublic roads may be required. Applicants must be able to lift up to 100pounds. Dates of need are (3/7/2024 10/31/2024) This order is for workin Shoshone, Idaho area. Job duties may require a split shift, such as6:00 to 9:00 AM and 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Worker will be required to performa variety of duties related to the production of beef cattle, hay, andgrain. The majority of the work activities during the overall contractperiod, however, will be related to general farm work/irrigation/cropproduction. General Farm Work will include the followingresponsibilities: maintain, drive, attach and operate farmimplements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant, cultivate, fertilizeand harvest crops; make minor mechanical adjustments and repairs on farmmachinery; mix and/or spray chemicals (according to appropriaterestrictive use laws, when/if applicable); remove undesirable and excessgrowth from crops or farm grounds; remove rocks from field;paint/repair/maintain farm structures; replace/repair fencing; performgeneral cleanup of farm areas; drive, load/unload trucks; operate motorbike or all-terrain vehicle in the course of performing duties.Irrigation duties will include the following: Flood Irrigation: liftgate in side of flooded irrigation ditch/pipe permitting water to flowinto bordered section of field; connect/disconnect gated pipe;open/close gate on gated pipe; install and remove canvas dams; shoveland pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cut trenches in high areasto direct water flow; close gate in ditch/pipe when bordered section isflooded; open gate or connect pipe to underground pipe system thatreleases water flow into reservoir or ditch; siphon water from floodedreservoir or ditch to channel water into designated areas; shovel or hoesoil to clear ditches/furrows and build embankments to appropriatelychannel water; mix and apply proper solutions to fill holes/cracks inpipes, ditches, and spillways, and make minor repairs to metal,concrete, and wooden frameworks in pipe and ditch valves and gates.Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes and place in predeterminedpatterns in fields; disassemble service and store pipes/mainlines afterirrigation season. Duties related to the production of Livestock willinclude the following: check physical characteristics, observe generalcondition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animalsto detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain or to determinedelivery time, assist in delivery; apply or administer medications,vaccines and/or insecticides; mix feed/additives and feed/waterlivestock; place mineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distributefeed/water; herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; clean/disinfectlivestock corrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag andclamp livestock; maintain records on animals; hoist/stack bales of hayonto wagon/truck.
