PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential job functions / listing all physical and mental demands of the job are as follows:
Assure quality of service provision while protecting integrity and respect for families servedEstablish a trusting relationship with at-risk families by initiating and maintaining client contactMaintain a working knowledge of parent-child interaction and child development, the dynamics of abuse and neglect, and demonstrate skills in using materials related to these topicsDemonstrate ability to apply basic counseling skills and continuing motivation to learn new skillsAssist parents in making and attending appointments for doctors, social service agencies, etc.; Act as liaison and as an advocate for families interacting with these agenciesDemonstrate familiarity with community resources and possess skills to identify and utilize these resourcesResponsible for attending weekly supervision as determined per policyPrepare PCI activities, facilitate screens/tools, share health/safety information with familiesDocument all activities and home visits in the statewide database per policyConsistently demonstrate a timely response to voice mail, cell phone calls, texts as per policyHelp family to identify and make responsible use of community resources to meet the needs of the familyReview all entitlements and community programs from which the client may benefit, make referrals, assist with necessary paperwork, and provide follow-upFollow organizational policies and procedures and State laws pertaining to use of car seats and the transportation of childrenIn the course of transporting client families, may be required to transfer and install car seats and assist young children into the car seatsProvide services in the families homes, or in the community environment when assisting with a particular learning taskProvide face-to-face services for the amount of time needed by each individual family and based on program policyRespect confidentiality; demonstrate ability to follow HIPAA policies and proceduresDeliver services in a culturally competent fashionConsistently demonstrate the required amount of productivity, which is defined as face-to-face contact divided by the total client hours worked for a week as per policyMaintain availability for emergency/crisis intervention 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, by carrying and responding to cell phone according to policyResponsible for participating in additional training as requestedAttend departmental and organizational meetings as requestedAdditional Job Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or DirectorMust respond to emails, phone calls, texts, and voicemails per policyJOB REQUIREMENTS:Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, child development, or a directly related field preferredExperience and demonstrated maturity in successfully raising and/or working with infants and young childrenAbility to attend and complete mandatory Healthy Families training during first year and ongoing training as required by StateAvailability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, requiredExperience/Knowledge:Good punctuation, spelling, grammar and attention to detail a must. Strong interpersonal skills are essential. Computer expe ience with word processing applications required. Must be capable of operating basic office equipment, i.e., computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, etc. Experience with grant funded programs preferred.
