　　SUMMARY:

　　This is an academic position in which the faculty member is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, teaching, and evaluating assigned courses, as well as the curriculum within the specific division. Must possess a strong knowledge base in Psychology and in clinical Psychology. Responsible for teaching various courses in undergraduate and graduate psychology. The Psychology professor will play an integral role in development a Health Services Psychology program. The faculty member is also responsible for service to the College and scholarship activities.

　　ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

　　Assumes responsibility for classroom instruction of assigned courses.

　　Facilitates a learning and caring environment, which encourages critical thinking, investigation, self-direction, and respect for the uniqueness of each individual.

　　Evaluates student progress and maintains appropriate records.

　　Remains current with trends, issues and practices in the discipline.

　　Contributes to the evaluation of student academic achievement and other evaluative processes of the College.

　　Upholds and promotes the Mercy Health Mission and Core Values of compassion, excellence, human dignity, justice, sacredness of life and service.

　　Demonstrates knowledge of and implementation of the general education philosophy

　　Serves on college committees as appointed or elected.

　　Actively involved in professional development and scholarly activities.

　　Program development and execution of a Health Services Psychology program.

　　EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS:

　　Required Minimum Education: Doctorate Clinical Psychology

　　Preferred Education: Doctorate Clinical Psychology

　　Minimum Years and Type of Experience Required :

　　One to two years of on-line and classroom teaching experience in the field and a background in a related clinical area.

　　Minimum Years and Type of Experience Preferred:

　　Two - three years of on-line and classroom teaching experience in the field with positive student evaluation and a background in a related clinical area.
