About Facility Operations Specialist

  Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command U.S. Army Counterintelligence Command HQ Fort Meade, MD. Responsibilities Assist in managing, monitoring, coordinating, and integrating the day-today building operations, mostly located in a historical district with historical value. Ensuring that all necessary maintenance, repairs, alterations or modifications are accomplished for the building, installed equipment and mechanical systems, and grounds. Assist on planning projects and formulation of efficient and economical space management and utilization plans, as they may entail or impact alteration or replacement of heating and air conditioning equipment, electrical, new lighting, and security Supports a variety of service functions for building operations, maintenance, repair and alteration programs covering a range of electrical and mechanical (HVAC) to existing buildings or renovation projects. Monitors documented space assignments and conducts inspections to ensure compliance with space utilization, management and maintenance/upkeep. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience equivalent to the GG/GS-11 that prepared you to do this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience with building maintenance and management, mechanical (HVAC) systems and/or general engineering concepts. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities Inspection Facilities Management Facilities Operations and Maintenance Facilities Reporting and Record-Keeping Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. This is an Engineers & Scientists (Construction) Career Field 18 position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
