Position: Facility Maintenance Repairer

　　Department: Streets

　　Division: Public Works Rate of Pay: $13.00/hr.

　　Nature of Work:

　　This is a skilled position in which the candidate will work in multiple capacities. The position will work to maintain and repair City streets, sidewalks, and drainage ditches.

　　Examples of Work:

　　· Drive pick-up truck.

　　· Perform concrete set-up tasks.

　　· Load trucks with pipes, dirt, sand and all materials required to complete various repair jobs.

　　· Clean and maintain storm drains as needed or required.

　　· Lay pipes for drainage and entry (driveway culverts).

　　· Work and assist other departments and divisions as necessary to complete tasks for Public Works.

　　Desirable Qualifications:

　　High school diploma or G.E.D. or better is required. Must have skills for proper use of equipment. Must be willing to learn and work with new equipment. Must have good oral communication, written and mathematical skills related to construction. Must be willing to work closely and cooperate with other workers in a crew or group setting. Must be able to take instruction and follow through with tasks as required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, elected officials, and other City employees. Must have and maintain a valid Mississippi driver's license.
