What this job involves - The facilities generalist supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Assists the various maintenance disciplines in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas.What is your day to day?Provide all other building maintenance, repair, and restorative procedures as directed.Perform general maintenance tasks to maintain buildings.Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment.General office maintenance - hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems.Completes special tasks that include painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, special cleaning, and general maintenance as assigned.Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested.Assists other operational staff members in repair and maintenance of building equipment.Maintains a clean and safe workplace.Any and all other duties and tasks assigned.Desired experience and technical skillsRequiredHigh school diploma or GED.Have entry level working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.Troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.May spend extended hours working inside and outside in all weather conditions, and in awkward body positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain.Perform strenuous labor and general maintenance activities.Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.Proficient computer skills necessary to operate computer for general day to day work and communications.Ability to work independently as well as a productive member of a team.Must be able to: Hold and grip objects. Bend, squat, kneel, climb, crawl, and reach overhead. Work in awkward positions. Twist and turn torso. Push and pull up to 50 pounds. Distinguish primary colors. Subject to periods of prolonged standing.
