About Facilities Designer

  Description

  This new role is responsible for designing and analyzing the structural, electrical, and mechanical components of a project, ensuring that it meets safety standards, cost-effectiveness, and environmental regulations.

  Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  Designing and analyzing the structural components of a construction project

  Preparing and reviewing technical drawings and specifications

  Conducting feasibility studies and cost estimates for construction projects

  Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, building codes, and safety standards

  Coordinating with architects, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project.

  Providing technical support during construction and resolving any issues that may arise.

  Update and archive internal CAD file and documents for future reference.

  Analyze design issues and recommend corrective actions.

  Work closely with Program Managers, and facilities team on multiple projects.

  Produce drawing packages for facilities, project managers and external contractors in accordance with ASV Detailing Department Standards.

  Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.

  Travel requirements estimated at 25%, including the need to travel to various Cirrus locations.

  Company vehicle driving requirements estimated at 10%; must have valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

  Completes construction projects by preparing engineering design and documents and confirming specifications

  Designs construction projects by studying project concepts, architectural drawings, and models

  Prepares engineering design by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, blueprints

  Creates feasibility study by analyzing engineering design, conducting environmental impact studies, and summarizing data.

  Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules

  Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting construction sites, and verifying calculations.

  Complies with federal, state, and local requirements by reviewing existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions

  Qualifications

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.   Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field;

  2+ years of relevant work experience in the field of civil engineering, particularly 3D design and CAD.

  Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, drawing in 3D.

  Innovative & thinking outside the box required.

  Learn new technologies and systems as required.

  Ability to work and interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets.

  Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

  Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.

  Strong organizational skills.

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

  Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
