About Fab Shop Mechanic

  Description

  Build and maintain all support equipment for shop and field operations. Equipment may include but is not limited to: Lower hooks, power packs, fire buckets, longlines, and work stands. Use various fabrication tools in the construction of various metal and plastic projects.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  Complete special fabrication projects as assigned.

  Load and unload equipment.

  Basic computer work (part lookup/order, equipment update, and blueprint reading)

  Other duties as assigned.

  Maintains work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner, practices proper tool and FOD control.

  Performs work safely and utilizes the appropriate technical data for the assigned task.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  2+ years experience with basic fabrication tools.

  General hand tools and toolbox required.

  Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values

  Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently

  Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

  Proficient in GTAW (Tig) welding. Steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

  Proficient in GMAW (Mig) welding. Steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.

  Skill in SMAW (Stick) welding beneficial but not required.

  Proficient with all metal fabrication tools.

  Skill in using a metal lathe beneficial but not required.

  Proficient in reading blue prints and sketches.

  Ability to communicate with customer and write down or sketch the information needed to complete job.

  Fabricate parts without a drawing.

  Knowledge of different types of materials.

  Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
