Position Overview:
Pratt & Whitney’s Program Planning & Scheduling (PP&S) organization is searching for a Planning Manager, supporting F135 Sustainment programs. The PP&S organization works with key program stakeholders to promote the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) as a healthy, integrated management tool. The master schedule is the program’s most powerful management tool and when properly maintained, the schedule can be used to influence program management decisions and actions. PP&S supports various programs by managing the IMS content, providing quality analysis of the product, and ensuring that it meets government and company standards.
The F135 Sustainment Planning & Scheduling Manager works with program office stakeholders and partners to ensure quality planning support of F135 Integrated Master Schedules (IMS). The Sustainment Manager applies their advanced knowledge in consulting with Program Office entities, Earned Value team members and Cost Account Managers (CAMs) on Military Engine Programs, promoting the IMS as a healthy, integrated management tool.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Supervising a team of program schedulers and planners to provide quality scheduling support.
Provide consulting support to the team, infusing scheduling best-practices into program schedules.
Foster team collaboration with cost analyst counterparts and other inter-organizational counterparts to provide valuable analysis that the programs can use to make decisions.
Ensure quality planning and scheduling support that is compliant to program requirements and earned value policy. This is including but not limited to: making sure that schedules are vertically and horizontally linked to perform program critical path assessments, manage changes to the baseline, analyze and provide information as needed on the health of the program schedule.
Ensuring the timely and correct execution of contract program deliverables such as the IPMDAR and schedule risk assessments
Create program scheduling procedures and standard work, continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing training skills in order to enhance individual and team innovation / productivity as well as communicating improvements and efficiencies in scheduling processes.
Perform as a backup for your team members, as needed, to ensure consistent program support.
This position is hybrid and will require on-site presence at the East Hartford, CT location.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years’ experience, or, advanced degree with 5+ years’ experience.
Minimum years of experience to include:
Working as a program planner or control account manager using logic-driven scheduling software (i.e. Primavera, MS Project, Open Plan).
Demonstrated proficiency in scheduling analysis. Experience analyzing for IMS quality (such as DCMA 14-point and DCMA DECM) and ability to produce valid critical paths, applying rook cause analysis to variance recovery.
Knowledge in the application of integrated cost/schedule techniques on programs.
Understanding of earned-value management and scheduling principles and their application to complex projects.
Experience with DoD reporting requirements.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance or actively hold one.
Strong creative problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and time management skills.
Organized and self-motivated with excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be proficient in MS Office Programs (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word).
Experience influencing program customers.
Experience in developing talent and driving team performance.
Familiarity with the NDIA's Planning and Scheduling Excellence Guide.
Interpret contract requirements for translation into the IMS.
Experience on Government compliance programs, reporting requirements, and familiarity with the DoD Earned Value Management System Interpretation Guide (EVM Sig).
Experience using a Monte Carlo schedule risk simulator (i.e. Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen Fuse).
Understanding of systems/project engineering concepts and practices.
Experience working on schedules that require baseline change control and monthly IMS reporting.
Risk review process as it pertains to IMS quality and execution.
Ability to efficiently and effectively handle multiple shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
