  Job Summary:

  The Engine Design & Systems Engineering (EDSI) organization is seeking an engineer to own the Simulation Lifecycle Management (SLM) capability for the F135 Engine Core Upgrade (ECU) program. SLM delivers model-based simulations and requirements traceability across engine development phases and is one of the Model Based Enterprise Digital transformation initiatives. In this role, you will be working closely with the Engineering Tools & Methods (ET&M) PLM team to deliver Simulation Management capabilities for F135 ECU that are aligned with analysis discipline needs and program digital milestones. This is a Hybrid role with a primary work location of in the East Hartford, CT office.

  Key Responsibilities:

  Lead SLM product baselining for major program milestones and roll-out new features by working closely with ECU digital transformation lead.

  Own translating ECU digital thread requirements in to SLM tools and methods teams multiyear feature development plan and provide priorities.

  Participate in SLM development activities in team center environment through programming and ensure provided solutions will meet the requires of the ECU program.

  Present progress and next steps at regular agile reviews and PDR, CDR, and other major milestone reviews.

  Lead the testing and adaption of developed SLM features into ECU program by working closely with CIPT, design integration, structures integration leads in EDSI.

  Support all engineers on the program to understand baselining versus releases and keeping models under configuration control according to the best practices communicated by the Engineering and Tools Methods organization SLM Leads.

  Basic Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aerospace, Science, or Math and minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical design, development, and/or test, preferably of defense-related components or systems. Or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.

  The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  Expect up to 10% travel

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Experience with propulsion system product life cycle life management activities.

  Understanding of releases and baselines in Model based systems engineering context.

  Experience with DOORS, SAP, MS Project, Jira, Github, ZenHub. Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering and Model Based Design.

  Agile certification or proven agile product ownership experience.

  Active DoD security clearance.

  Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

  The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

  Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

  This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
