Job Description Summary
Under general supervision, works cooperatively with others to develop and implement strategies to measure the impacts of Extension educational efforts.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Leads the development and implementation of strategies to measure and report intermediate and long-term educational program outcomes in areas addressed by Extension (agriculture, family and community health, youth development) working with stakeholders and Extension educators.
C ollects, processes, analyzes, and reports data on intermediate and long-term program outcomes using appropriate data collection and analytical tools.
Develops and conducts training on measuring intermediate and long-term educational program outcomes.
Secondary Responsibilities
C ollects, processes, analyzes, reviews, and reports data on immediate program outcomes.
Develops and conducts training on specialized topics such as data collection methods, data analysis, interpretation of results, questionnaire design, etc. as needed.
Conducts training on evaluation basics to new Extension educators (specialists and county agents) primarily focused on measurement of immediate outcomes.
Updates evaluation area of Intranet portal.
Develops and maintains Tableau workbooks of program results as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in extension, education, agriculture, health, quantitative social science, or related field.
Five years or more years of related professional experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Doctorate in extension, education, agriculture, health, quantitative social science, or related field.
Formal training in program evaluation.
Experience in measuring immediate and long-term outcomes in Extension or other non-formal educational setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet applications.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to help educators develop program goals and SMART objectives.
Experience with data collection and analysis using surveys methods.
Proficiency in using SPSS or SAS to shape, aggregate, and analyze data.
Working knowledge of descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and repeated measures.
Strong data and analytical skills.
Attention to detail to ensure quality data products.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with data collection and analysis using non-survey methods.
Experience writing SPSS or SAS command syntax for record and file level data manipulations.
Experience developing Tableau visualizations.
Experience using Qualtrics or similar software to develop and implement web-based surveys.
Strong Excel skills.
Strong questionnaire design skills.
