PURPOSE
Under the Associate Vice President of Academic Affair's supervision, the Executive Director of Advising and Coaching will serve as the strategic and operational champion to enhance student success by developing and implementing student success and advisement strategies to advance learning, engagement, retention, and completion. The Executive Director will work closely with other campus units that support student development, academic achievement, and the University’s vision, mission, and values in the pursuit of excellence.

Job Duties
Provides oversight, supervision, and strategic direction for academic advising and coaching unit.
Identify, develop, and guide innovative initiatives to improve student retention, persistence, and timely graduation using national best practices and emerging research to. Provide leadership, guidance, planning, and implementation of initiatives that foster inclusive excellence and equitable outcomes for all students, emphasizing improving retention, graduation, and time to degree and eliminating opportunity gaps for undergraduate students.
Collaborate on the implementation and integration of the student success management platform and develop and coordinate, facilitate related initiatives to enhance student success. Collaborate with partners across the University to leverage a coordinated student success network to assist students.
Establish and monitor goals, objectives, and key performance indicators to determine the effectiveness of outreach campaigns, opportunities for intervention, and potential improvements to practices. Facilitate the improvement of unit processes and practices.
Cultivate a culture of service excellence within the Academic Advising and Coaching unit by setting and championing high standards of service delivery, ensuring that advisors and coaches consistently provide exceptional support and guidance to students, while continually seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation in the delivery of academic advising and coaching services.
Leverage technology and predictive analytics modeling and tools to supplement data-informed strategies for programs and services. Develop and facilitate training to include technology and student success management platforms to implement such strategies, initiatives, outreach, and practices.

Job Duties
Model the core values for the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) Academic Advisor.
Generate reports on student trends, risk-indicators, usage data, etc. utilizing technology, including Starfish software. Communicate and discuss findings with constituents.
Other: 20%
Job Duties
Partner and develop strong working relationships with institutional leadership, special committees, and consultants to support strategic goals.
Provide regular on-campus professional development, including best practices sessions for student success for faculty and staff.
Work closely with the Associate Vice President and actively supports the coordination and planning of projects, communications, agendas, and other collateral duties
Act on the Associate Vice President's authority for Academic Affairs to oversee strategic projects with a focus on significant change management initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or related field
Ten (10) years of related experience in student services program.
Additional experience may be considered as a substitution for the minimum requirements
Bachelor’s degree and twelve (12) years of relevant experience
Strong critical thinking, memorization, attention to detail, and communication skills,
Ability to work independently while developing strong collaborative relationships.
Ability to exercise excellent professional judgment and discretion, making decisions regularly that impact student welfare and the institution.
WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE
Progressively responsible experience in student success, advising, student support, or other university administration.
Experience with student success technology platforms.
Experience with project management and leading large-scale initiatives.
SALARY: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 ANNUAL, APPROXIMATELY
