[Western Indiana Workforce Development Board, Inc.[Executive Director[**Job Description[The Western Indiana Workforce Development Board (WIWDB) is the grant recipient of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds for Indiana Economic Growth Region 7, which provides workforce development services to Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo counties.[The Board office is headquartered in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Executive Director is the chief executive officer reporting to the Board. In this position, the Executive Director is responsible for the administration of federal (including WIOA Title I programs), state, and private grants in accordance with applicable regulations. The Executive Director must possess leadership, guidance, and technical expertise in the area of workforce development for the local area, and staff support for the functioning of the WIWDB.

Create and implement a long term plan which communicates the WIWDBs vision, goals and objectives, and the actions needed to achieve the principles set forth in the strategic plan.Achievement of regional vision and goals is equally dependent on offering a system for the delivery of workforce services which is well aligned, welcoming, and meets individuals where they are in life. Address the talent needs of business and industry within the local area to support stability and economic growth.Shape Western Indiana workforce development strategy to respond to the needs of businesses for skilled workers and for current and future workers of all ages to fill those positions.Ensure that all business services available through WIWDB are well communicated to the local business community and are continually used for business support and workforce enhancement.Raise the visibility of workforce development as an essential component of economic development in the local area.[*Relationship Building *]{sans-serif=""}
Collaborate closely with community, county, regional, state, and national organizations to ensure workforce development efforts are successful in addressing the needs of business, and within the priorities of those needs.Maintain organizational visibility and provide leadership in the community by being active and involved with relevant professional, civic, and business organizations in the community, region, and state.Oversee clear, high-quality communication messages and presence on the web, on social media, in public campaigns, and in community actions.Identify and secure or develop collaborative ventures and additional resources in support of the organizations mission.[*Essential Job Functions: *]{sans-serif=""}
Serve as the primary liaison to the WIWDB and the Executive Committee; work closely with the WIWDB chair.
Organize and manage meetings for the WIWDB, Chief Elected Officials (CEOs), and committees.
Develop and implement policies and procedures approved by the board.
Monitor federal and state legislation/regulations/policies and ensure compliance of the board and program operations.
Oversee and inform the board of organizational and administrative matters.
Report and advise on significant developments and trends in the workforce development field.
