The Exceptional Childrens Teacher provides special education services to students identified as disabled.
Qualifications
Must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional License in the area of Special Education: Adaptive Curriculum.Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instruction and instructional environments which help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social developmentConducts lessons or instructional activities at a brisk pace, appropriate to studentsEstablishes and maintains standards of student behavior required to provide and orderly and productive classroom environmentEvaluates each students performance and growth in knowledge and understanding, and prepares progress reportsPerforms other duties as assigned by immediate supervisorSkills and Abilities
Ability to meet the needs of all learnersKnowledge of students growth, development, and learningUnderstanding the growth and development of students to which he/she is assignedAbility to motivate studentsAbility to communicate effectively in written and oral formAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitates by work assignmentsAbility to adapt to performing under stress when confronted with emergency situations
