About EVENT SUPPORT ASSISTANT/PASSPORT AGENT (OA)

  Summary You will serve as a Event Support Assistant/Passport Agent (OA) in the Events and Protocol Department of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE. Responsibilities You will arrange a site location for an event. You will use an electronic travel system, such as Defense Travel System (DTS), to create travel documents. You will answer administrative related questions to assist staff. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Preparing event materials (e.g., agendas, web sites, brochures, programs, name tags, place cards printing and assembling background material, etc. ) in support of the execution of event; 2) Assisting with coordinating events and providing logistics support; and 3) Using an automated travel system to prepare invitational travel orders and vouchers. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. A 40 hour work week is typical for this position. This position is being recruited at the full performance level. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work in principally sedentary. There may be some walking, bending, standing for short periods of time. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work involves normal risks or discomforts associated with an office environment. The work area is usually adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
