Position Value Proposition Work within the Estimating/Sales Department to provide support to all phases of modeling/detailing for project estimating, sales presentation, development and execution.
Key Performance Objectives
Operate 3D and 2D modeling software, such as Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD, etc.
Reviews design drawings for accuracy and completeness, and coordinates resolution of discrepancies and/or missing information with customers, design team, other trades, detailing, shop, & field as may be necessary.
Provides technical instructions and guidance to steel estimators and detailers in preparing shop drawings per project requirements and standards.
Facilitate conceptual estimating/detailing through 3D model generation, material take-offs, comprehensive report creation, resolve potential conflicts and project-missing information
Analyzing designs, editing designs, creating material summaries, working with department Estimators, Engineers
Perform accurate checking and detailing services in Tekla in a timely manner
Adhere to all Schuff standards and procedures, and assist in developing new standards, procedures, and standard details as required
Follow company file management, file transfer, and data security procedures and protocols
Provide support for any tasks required for the successful completion of projects in the Estimating Department
Act as a liaison between shop, field, and detailers to resolve fabrication and erection difficulties.
Coordinates the detailing efforts of various common subcontractors.
Serve as a direct link between Detailers, Project Managers, and other production departments, and customer, other contractors, and Design Team as may be required.

Education/Training
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
Work Experience
A minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of directly related experience in engineering, architecture, and/or structural steel detailing
Specialized Knowledge
Specialized Knowledge is required in the following areas: structural steel, steel modeling, detailing, and estimating
Software & Technology
Position will require the frequent use of Revit 2016-2019, AutoCAD 2016 or later, Tekla Structures 2016 or later, MS Windows 7 and/or MS Windows 10, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and Bluebeam PDF Software.
Work Environment
Position requires as many hours needed to fulfill the daily and weekly obligations required to carry out the functions. Working long days including evenings and weekends may be required for this position. This position is performed indoors in a climate controlled environment. Should be able to sit for long periods of time. Position requires occasional out of state air/road travel as needed and required. A clean driving record will be required due to required road travel. Current and valid driver's license and proof of acceptable insurance is required .
