ESAC, Inc.: Senior Software Applications Engineer (multiple positions) – Rockville, MD
DUTIES:
Develop and maintain the Proteomic Data Commons (PDC) web application using programming languages such as JAVA, J2EE, Spring, Junit Hibernate, Angular, CSS, MySQL and Python.
Design and develop new features possessing wide range of capabilities as requested by clients.
Design and develop automated processes or scripts to reduce manual effort.
Design and develop the application using advanced software development and comprehensive Object-oriented and aspect-oriented programming and thorough understanding of engineering principles.
Code and test application enhancements and solutions.
Design, develop and test Java applications in the health IT/bioinformatics/cancer-related genomics and proteomics domain environment.
Design and implement clinical and proteogenomic data warehouses and present information on research-focused web portals.
Use cutting-edge technologies in the analyses, interpretation, and graphical presentation of large high throughput biological data sets.
Manage the build and automated testing infrastructure.
Cross-cloud architecture to run, manage, connect and secure apps across clouds.
Integrate APIs from external data sources with in-house data management and analysis pipelines.
Analyze existing standards and data repositories, provide recommendations, and document relevant standards and metadata applicable to biomedical research data.
Use quality processes such as CMMi, ISO and ITIL for product success.
Develop and maintain, build and release documentation.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study followed by five (5) years of experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related. In the alternative, Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study and 3 years of experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or related area.
Prior experience must include:
• 3 years experience with JAVA, J2EE, Spring, Junit Hibernate, Angular, CSS, HTML, and MySQL;
• 3 years of experience with Object-oriented and aspect-oriented programming;
• 3 years experience with Python;
• 3 years of experience with CMMi, ISO, ITIL, and Lean management processes;
• 1 years of experience with Cloud Based technologies (AWS); and,
• 1 year of experience in the health IT/bioinformatics/cancer-related genomics and proteomics domain environment.

There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is: $92,500 - $145,000.
