　　DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe employee in this role serves in a leadership position for antimicrobial stewardship (AS) within the HAIP/AS program and oversees and provides direction to a team which may include both Epidemiology Research Associates and contracted employees. The purpose of this position is to provide AS expertise and act as primary liaison between local and state health departments, the HAI/AR Coordinator, healthcare facilities, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), professional societies, and other community partners with regards to AS.

　　Also, the employee provides support and direction for program activities under the CDC-funded Strengthening Healthcare-associated Infections/Antimicrobial Resistance (HAI/AR) Programs Capacity (SHARP) grant in cooperation with HAIP/AS team members.
