Description
This position requires lifting, pulling, and squatting. Duties of this position require the incumbent to be knowledgeable of and utilize the principles of Quality Management. This position involves professional work ensuring environmental and safety standards are maintained at Sunland. The employee in this position serves as the advisor to all environmental conditions at Sunland. This position is responsible for environmental, health and safety and related functions.
Takes the lead in the monitoring of the environmental life safety quality assurance program at Sunland. Is primarily responsible for inspecting environmental/life safety in areas to assure that standards are maintained as indicated in residential and administrative areas, food service, medical and dental, housekeeping, and laundry, transportation, refrigeration, and sanitation equipment, beauty and barber areas, emergency room and treatment areas, and storage and supply areas, and other areas as required.
Periodically samples food temperatures prepared at Sunland, monitors all dish machines, dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers at Sunland to ensure proper water temperature.
Coordinates and supervises the activity of local, state, and federal fire marshals and both federal agencies involved in environmental and health reviews including the Department of Health County Public Units, Health Units, APD Office, Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Regulations, and Agency for Health Care Administration.
Enforces numerous applicable codes and regulations; helps develop in consultation with supervisor, directs, and monitors corrective action.
Establishes, conducts, and monitors a continuing environmental control program including waste collection and disposal.
Performs other related duties as required.
Completes all required training.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license
Experience conducting environmental or other quality assurance monitoring in a professional capacity
Willingness to work nights or weekends to ensure Life Safety requirements are met
Experience, education, and/or training used to meet the minimum qualifications and in response to the qualifying questions must be verifiable through information contained in your application.
This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035.
This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
