The Environmental Lead Technician is responsible for leading a team involved in the maintenance, monitoring, and recording required for air, water and waste permits. This role also involves leading a team to comply with the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and the Radiation Safety program. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and Federal environmental regulations via daily mechanical and electrical maintenance of the baghouses, water treatment systems, and associated equipment; loading hazardous waste; cleanup and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and spills; detailed housekeeping, including preventive maintenance; emergency response activities for spills or other environmental releases; inspections of pollution control equipment and facility operations; environmental department activities and other duties as assigned.

　　The Environmental Lead Technician must be flexible to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, some night shifts and weekends. As the construction phase progresses, the shift will change to a 4 on and 4 off dayschedule.

　　Nucor Steel West Virginiais Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steel making capabilities and lower carbon emissions.This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational after two years of construction.The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills and is locatedin the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

　　Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　Three years of experience in industrial maintenance relative to environmental compliance equipment, including but not limited to, water systems, fume exhaust systems, stack monitoring, etc.Willing to work flexible hours on a need to basis.

　　Preferred Qualifications:

　　Mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience.Experience in related industry: Water systems operations, water chemistry analysis, baghouse operation, CEMS, and pollution control equipment.Training in ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT, Method 9, or other aspects of environmental compliance.Leadership experienceExperience setting up and maintaining PM schedule for new equipment.
