Job Information
Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)/Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)/Emergency Preparedness Department(EPD) regulations while preventing injuries to co-workers and achieving safe facilities by working with department managers.
Designs, implements, and maintains programs that support the Company's environmental, safety & health philosophies.
Monitors the facility's environmental, safety, and health system.
Prepares reports on the performance and eff effectiveness of a machine's environmental, safety, and health system.
Role & Responsibility
Design, Implement and Maintain Safety Programs
Set strategy, assess shared values, skills, culture, organizational structure and staff .
Conduct production department(s) safety team meetings.
Publish minutes and conduct on-going follow-up.
Schedule and lead the Central Safety Committee meeting (meets monthly).
Prepare agenda, hand-outs including injury/near miss follow-up spreadsheet.
Manage the MSDS program.
Receive, review, and assign numbers to all products coming into the plant.
Make sure all information is up-to-date.
Manage safety audit program.
Schedule and manage action and data.
Publish the Outstanding Audit Findings reports.
Any outstanding items from safety audits are added weekly.
Manage and retain documentation for all risk assessments performed in Gwinner.
Provide information/guidance, eg: RIA Robotics standard.
Manage, prepare and retain waste manifests for all waste removed from the facility.
Manage and maintain all waste worksheet information and update documentation quarterly.
Manage and maintain environmental reports.
Maintain/update the ICP Contingency Plan including Emergency Response.
Set strategy for training and compliance eg: Respiratory Safety, Lock-out, Tag-out, OSHA.
Plan and Participate on/facilitate the ergonomics improvement activity.
Actively participate in corporate ESH Council.
Job Requirement
Degree: Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Health, & Safety or relevant scientific/engineering field or EHS experience accepted.
5+ years Safety/Environmental Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Safety/Environmental Management experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, regulations (OSHA/EPA/EPD)
Demonstrated experience in the application of EHS management systems
Demonstrative leadership experience across multi-site teams
Demonstrated computer (Excel, PowerPoint), leadership, influencing, and collaboration skills
25%-49% Travel
