Job Description
AECOM India is seeking to hire an Environmental Engineer for our Kolkata Office. The Responsibilities, required experience and qualification are summarized below:
Position Title: Environmental Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Impact Assessment:
Conduct assessments to determine the potential environmental impact of proposed projects.
Analyze data on air, water, soil quality, and assess the overall ecological impact.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay updated on environmental regulations and ensure that projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental laws.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals for projects from regulatory bodies.
Waste Management:
Develop and implement strategies for the proper management and disposal of solid and hazardous waste.
Advise on recycling and waste reduction measures.
Air and Water Quality Monitoring:
Monitor and analyze air and water quality, identifying sources of pollution.
Recommend and implement measures to improve air and water quality.
Remediation and Restoration:
Design and oversee environmental remediation projects to address contamination issues.
Plan and execute restoration projects to rehabilitate degraded ecosystems.
Sustainability Consulting:
Provide guidance on sustainable practices to minimize the environmental impact of projects.
Advise on energy efficiency, renewable energy sources, and green building practices.
Environmental Compliance Audits:
Conduct environmental compliance audits to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
Recommend corrective actions to address identified deficiencies.
Risk Assessment:
Evaluate environmental risks associated with industrial processes, construction projects, or other activities.
Develop risk assessment reports and propose risk mitigation measures.
Environmental Monitoring Systems:
Implement and maintain environmental monitoring systems to track and report on key indicators.
Utilize technology for real-time data collection and analysis.
Community Engagement:
Collaborate with communities, stakeholders, and government agencies to address environmental concerns.
Communicate effectively to educate the public on environmental issues and solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering with a focus on environmental studies, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license may be required.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and policies.
Proficiency in environmental modeling and assessment tools.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Additional Information
This role requires 10 years of experience in environmental engineering or related fields.
