Position Overview We are seeking an Environmental and Climate Preferable Specification Assistant to join our team and support our mission to promote environmental sustainability and climate-friendly practices. The ideal candidate will assist in research and development efforts related to environmental and climate preferable specifications, contribute to the update of guidance and website materials, aid in annual reporting, and play a crucial role in responding to inquiries about the OSDEnvironmentally Preferable Products (EPP) Procurement Program. Furthermore, the candidate will assist in developing EPP training programs and expanding outreach to eligible entities. This position will report to the Director of theEPP Procurement Program. Environmental and Climate Preferable Specification Research and Development: * Collaborate with the team to conduct research on environmentally friendly and climate-conscious product specifications. * Assist in the development of specifications that align with environmental and climate objectives. * Contribute to the assessment of product sustainability and environmental impact. 2. Updating Guidance and Website Materials: * Assist in updating guidance documents, manuals, and website materials to reflect current environmental and climate guidelines and practices. * Ensure that information provided to stakeholders is accurate and up-to-date. 3. Annual Reporting, Environmental Data Verification, and Vendor Compliance: * Support the process of collecting and verifying environmental data from vendors. * Collaborate in the preparation of annual environmental reports. * Ensure vendor compliance with environmental and climate requirements. 4. Responding to Questions about the OSD EPP Program: * Provide timely and informative responses to inquiries related to the OSD EPP Program. * Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to address their questions and concerns. 5. Development of EPP Trainings and Outreach: * Contribute to the design and implementation of EPP training programs. * Assist in expanding outreach efforts to engage and educate eligible entities on environmental and climate preferable practices. * Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to promote the adoption of sustainable practices. Qualifications * Strong interest in environmental and climate sustainability. * Excellent research, communication, and organizational skills. * Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. * Proficiency in using relevant software and tools. * Prior experience in environmental or sustainability-related roles is a plus.
