  Overview

  KCI is seeking a Track Design Engineer in Training to join our Rail and Transit Department! In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with senior track designers and railroad industry leaders and contribute to the design, analysis, and implementation of innovative track systems on railroad and transit projects around the region. The ideal candidate possesses an eagerness to learn, is highly motivated, and is excited to play a pivotal role in our newly established Track Design Team. This position offers a blend of remote and on-site work in Philadelphia.Join us as we Rise to the Challenge

  Duties, Responsibilities & Other

  Design and preparation of construction drawings for track design and railroad projectsWorking knowledge of Microstation or AutoCADGeneral knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelGood communication skillsEagerness to learn

  Qualifications

  Bachelor's Degree required.  Appropriate professional certification preferred.Minimum of 0-2 year's experience.Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon 

  Performance Expectations

  Complete Annual Individual Training ProgramTrain adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absenceComply with all KCI policies and proceduresEnsure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirementsComplete other duties as required/assignedAchieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(80-85% typical)Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasksComplete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scopeConsult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as requiredOperate within specified (corporate or project) budget parametersCompare field data to base planConduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as neededPrepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approvalPrepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approvalRead and interpret technical documents needed for performance of jobReview and approve shop drawings
