About Engineering Technician III - (T3) 1st Shift

  Key Responsibilities

  Performs moderately complex electro-mechanical technical functions and activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting and assembly of electronics and electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, specialized test equipment, tools and test fixtures.

  Tests and troubleshoots system level and component level problems in electrical and mechanical systems and sub-systems. May perform new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.

  Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or plans to perform moderate testing and troubleshooting.

  Compiles logbooks and test procedures documentation utilizing good writing skills. Assists in revising, developing and implementing department procedures.

  May perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & vacuum and process testing on AMAT platforms to Engineering and Manufacturing documentation and specifications.

  Observes all safety standards. Maintains a secure, safe, clean and healthy work environment. Attends required health and safety training and follows safety and security policies, procedures and practices. Promptly reports accidents, injuries, safety hazards, or emergencies to supervisor or Safety dept. Follows operating instructions, uses protective equipment when required, and uses equipment and materials properly. Actively strives to prevent accidents and injuries.

  Becomes familiar with current manufacturing and/or engineering processes and stays informed of any changes in procedures. Assists in the correction of problems.

  Performs necessary rework and assists in determining remedies for malfunctions and generates Quality Notifications.

  Uses communication skills to regularly exchange informationAnalyzes manufacturing build and test operations and performs time studies to determine Standard Labor Hours for each module and chamber build operation. Determines and may develop specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized measurement equipment.

  Specific Job Duties

  85% - Time Study data collection

  Work with Industrial Engineers to perform time studies for module and chamber build and test operations. Develop an understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts while conducting time studies. Classify the work performed during time study analysis as value-add vs non-value added work Record time study data in a standard template and perform mathematical analysis to summarize value added vs non-value added work for each build and test operation Identify waste in the manufacturing process and collaborate with Operations and Engineering in the development of efficiency improvement projects to remove waste in manufacturing operations. Keep precise records and take notes during the time study process to document differences in OMS’s and actual build operations Under the direction of the Time Study team leader, establish Standard Labor hours summaries for each product measured by Time Studies. Work with the Time Study Team leader and Operations to coordinate and schedule chambers or modules for Time Study analysis Coordinate Time Studies assessments with BU Operations, Planners and Engineering.

  15% - Central Services

  Support Central Services mission under the Industrial Engineering department. This work will include implementation of Continual Improvement programs to measure and improve the performance of our Calibration, Preventative Maintenance and Clean Team initiatives.

  U.S. Salary Range:

  $25.00 - $34.65

  The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

  For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
