Job Description SummaryThe Engineer SQE is responsible for managing external partnerships crucial to AAM's metal forming business unit. These partnerships encompass outside machining firms, powder metal component suppliers, and plating/coating providers. Additionally, this position will contribute to Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) efforts in collaboration with external heat treat processors.
Job Description
Execute PPAP activities as per established procedures and forms for program launches.
Conduct PPAP activities for changes necessitating a PPAP.
Provide support for technical reviews and risk assessments.
Conduct supplier audits using the AAM second-party audit template.
Perform capacity analysis as required, utilizing established processes.
Conduct audits on AAM commodity control plans as necessary.
Review supplier AIAG CQI self-assessments.
Assist plant quality teams in managing PRR activities for assigned suppliers.
Participate in addressing emerging issues at supplier sites.
Evaluate supplier processes for potential opportunities for continuous improvement or identification of gaps in the quality management system.
Analyze supplier data when needed to enhance processes and prevent the delivery of substandard parts to AAM plants.
Travel approximately 35-50% of the time to AAM facilities and suppliers.

Required Skills and Education
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related degree.
Experience working in metallurgical industry preferred.
Proficiency in heat treating, plating/coating preferred.
Knowledge of manufacturing process(es)
Understands interpretation and application of global quality standards (ISO-9001 & IATF-19649, and VDA 6.3)
