As a Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for designing and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products. We are engaged in developing groundbreaking silicon-to-systems solutions – right from technology development and advanced memory designs to product development, systems design and validation resulting in extraordinary memory solutions!
In this position, as a Scribe Array Design Engineer, you will work in the Research and Development (R&D) Scribe Design group where you will support advanced technology development through scribe test structure design and layout, scribe database management and design validation. Your job functions include test structure design and layout, collaboration with various teams (Process Integration, Electrical characterization, Device, Reliability, Design Rule, CAD) and assisting with parametric correlation and debug.
You will support process development activities through close interaction with Process Integration, Sophisticated mask development/OPC, Product and Design, Mask shop and Electrical characterization to create standardized and novel test structures. This includes feedback between these groups during the initial development of an R&D project and beyond through manufacturing integration. You will also be encouraged to verify and validate test structure documentation and related parametric information!
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Contributing to the development of new product opportunities by assisting with the overall design, layout, and optimization of Memory/Logic/Analog circuits
Parasitic modeling and assisting in design validation, reticle experiments and required tape-out revisions
Being responsible for and managing the layout process including floor-planning, placement, and routing
Performing verification processes with modeling and simulation using industry standard simulators
Contributing to cross group communication to work towards standardization and group success
Working with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering groups to ensure accurate manufacturability of product
Proactively solicit guidance from Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification groups to improve the design quality
Driving innovation into the future Memory generations within a dynamic work environment
Qualifications & Experience:
Hands on experience and proficiency in EDA tools (Cadence Virtuoso Layout and Schematic Editor, Calibre etc.)
Excellent circuit design, layout, schematic and verification skills including DRC, LVS and circuit simulation (hspice)
Good knowledge of semiconductor device physics, operation, parametric testing and DFM
Good knowledge of Memory Array design architectures, fab processes and failure modes
Ability to interpret EDUT definition and provide completed TEGs through customer interaction
Excellent problem solving and strong interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn new skills and explore unfamiliar concepts
Ability to drive decisions through data and metrics
Proficiency in Perl, Skill code and UNIX shell scripting languages is desired, but not required
Education:
Doctorate degree in Microelectronic or Electrical Engineering or,
Master's degree in Microelectronic or Electrical Engineering, with 3+ years of Semiconductor Design Engineering work experience.
Bachelor of Science degree in Microelectronic or Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 + years proven experience in Semiconductor Design Engineering will also be considered.
