Position Description
Key member of a multi-discipline team adding value to the assets through capital reinvestment and application of solid production/operation skills. Working in concert with reservoir engineers, geologists, production/facility engineers, and field operations to identify, develop, and execute CO2 flood projects for operations in the SACROC Unit, Permian Basin.
Position Requirements
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
Engineering degree required.
Currently living in, or willing to move to Midland, TX.
7+ years' experience. Permian Basin experience a plus.
Demonstrated ability to use petroleum engineering principles to solve problems and identify production-enhancement opportunities.
Ability to perform both production- and reservoir-engineering tasks for a CO2-flooded field.
Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with 75% of the data/information available.
Knowledge of artificial lift (ESP a plus).
Ability to write workover memos and familiarity with workover rig operations.
Knowledge in well stimulations (acid and frac designs a plus).
Production surveillance; ability to analyze and monitor waterflood data and pattern response data.
CO2 flood or mature waterflood experience preferred.
Good team player, ability to work closely with others in asset team.
Experience in developing technical documents such as AFEs, economic analysis, presentations to management, etc. (written and verbal skills).
Demonstrated initiative and results-oriented team member skills. Willingness to share knowledge and mentor less-experienced engineers.
Good Non-supervisory, but expected to take leadership roles in projects.
Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules.
Good time-management skills. Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment. Workover procedures and/or AFE’s are often developed, approved, and implemented within days or weeks.
Good computer skills including: DSS/OFM, MS Office, nodal analysis, economics (ARIES preferred), Petra.

Working conditions:
80/20 office and job site (outside) work locations
Hybrid Work Schedule
Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays and on-call as needed.
