Assist in the development of new processes aimed at the advancement of X-ray mirror technology. Performing various surface metrology characterizations on polished parts. Assist senior staff in conducting research and development.Responsibilities:Data reduction and analysis of surface geometry and characterizationPerforming surface metrology characterization using profilometers and interferometersOperating CNC optical polishing and grinding machinesRunning analytical software for data processingOptical assembly for manufacturingMaintenance and calibration of all optical machining and metrology equipmentAssisting senior technical staff in development of new techniques and processes for advancement of X-ray mirror technologyQualificationsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in physics or optical engineering2+ years' experience in optical CNC machining is requiredStrong analytical geometry skillsStrong computer skills. Basic programming concepts a plusGood dexterity for handling fragile partsBasic knowledge of surface metrology techniques a plusStrong attention to detail and qualityGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to learn new equipment and processes quicklyMust be able to meet minimum qualifications to apply.
